His photographs have been exhibited in several one person and group shows, and are featured in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library, and the Houston Museum of Fine Art.
Richard was awarded a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship for Film-Making in 2006, and two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships in Photography in 1992 and 1998.
